Addison Central School is a fiscally sound district and a great place to work with outstanding students, a quality staff and a supportive Board of Education and community. It is located in New York State’s Southern Tier and serves more than 1,000 students in grades PreK-12.

The District is seeking an innovative Middle/High School Assistant Principal who is visible, active, and involved in supporting the daily operations of the school building.  This individual works directly and collaboratively with the principal to ensure that the school building is safe and secure; assists with the supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff; supports students social-emotionally, behaviorally and academically; and is responsive to all stakeholders' needs, while remaining highly visible and engaging during the school day.      

REPORTS TO:   Principal

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:  

The successful candidate will perform the following duties in the areas of school leadership, student management, building operations, teacher development and evaluation, and parent and family engagement.

  • Foster a safe, engaging and challenging learning environment that reflects the school's values and high expectations for students and staff.
  • Support the efficient, safe, and effective daily operations of the school.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with students, staff, families, and the school community.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and consistent enforcement of student behavior expectations and the Code of Conduct, ensuring due process for students.
  • Ensure supervision of students in common areas, transportation settings, and structured programs, including in-school suspension and after-school detention.
  • Support school safety initiatives, including emergency preparedness training and crisis response, and work with staff to maintain a secure learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the Principal and the instructional staff to analyze data, monitor student progress, and drive continuous improvement in the learning environment as well as in best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Model professionalism, sound judgment, problem-solving, and adaptability in high stress or emergency situations.
  • Celebrate student and staff achievements and contribute to a positive school climate.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or District administration.

Student Summer Worker - Temporary position Summer 2026

This person will work closely with the technology department.

They will complete duties assigned to them by the team to include:

  1. Inventory of assets
  2. Imaging of assets
  3. Deployment of assets
  4. Disposal of assets

This person should be excited about the IT field and looking to further their education.  Must be prompt and willing to work on a team.

Lifeguard (Seasonal)LG07052024

The work involves responsibility for looking after the safety and welfare of swimmers at a public swimming pool.  The work is carried out in accordance with well-established standard water safety and lifesaving practices and procedures and involves primarily the patrol of the swimming area at a public pool and remaining vigilant at all times for emergencies requiring his/her attention.  Work is performed under the direct supervision of a higher-ranking recreation employee or program administrator with leeway allowed and expected for the exercise of independent and sound judgment in emergency situations.  Does related work as required.

 

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES

  1. Stands watch or patrols swimming pool area, keeping swimmers within bounds and going to their aid when they are in difficulty;
  2. Applies resuscitation techniques and otherwise renders first aid as needed;
  3. Instructs beginners in swimming;
  4. Keeps the pool area free of glass and other debris;
  5. Keeps order among swimmers and enforces pool rules; and
  6. Other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
$16.00/hour
