Addison Central School District seeks to fill a Bus Monitor position within the District Transportation Department. The duties of which include, but are not limited to, working along side of licensed bus drivers, responsibility for saftey and wellbeing of students, maintainaning of disipline on the bus and at stops along the route, showing a willingness and capability to train for potential additional positions within the department, and assisting the driver in maintatining the cleanliness of the bus.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES

  Rides a school bus for the purpose of assisting students to climb aboard and alight from the bus;

  Assists younger students to cross streets and highways in safety;

  Maintains order among students on the bus and exercises appropriate discipline where necessary;

  Ensures that students are seated while the bus is in motion for optimum safety;

  Provides special assistance in the loading, transporting, and unloading of physically challenged students; and

  Assists students and driver as needed;

  Other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
