Candidate will be part of a student care team including School R.N.s, guardians, and building staff members.

Carries out uncomplicated therapeudic treatments, preparing and applying simple dressings;

Assists in maintaining simple activity records and assists in the maintenance of charts and files;

Works with School Nurse or physician in conducting vision, hearing, and other medical testing of individuals;

May give personal hygienic care;

Lifts and moves patients as required; and

Other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Addison Central School District seeks Substitute Registered Nurses (R.N.). Work will be on a call-in, as-needed basis. Interested candidates must have a current R.N. license and experience working in a school district is prefered.

This substitute professional nursing position involves the responsibility for giving care and treatment to students and for performing related nursing services such as pupil health appraisal and follow-through and communicable disease control requiring specialized judgment and skills.  Employees perform professional nursing services at one or more schools in the maintenance of acceptable health standards, school health records, and the emergency treatment of student and employee health problems.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES

Assists in physical, visual and auditory screening examinations of students and employees;

Administers first aid and emergency treatment to students and employees;

Prepares, maintains and interprets health records to school authorities, teachers and parents on health and hygiene problems, such as reasons for absenteeism;

Arranges to transport sick or injured students or employees to hospital, home, doctor’s or dentist’s office in cases of emergency;

Reports on general safety and sanitary conditions;

Consults with attendance teachers and staff members concerning a variety of health factors related to non-attendance and communicable disease;

Prepares records and reports as required; and

Other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Substitute School Monitor (Latch Key Program)LK07052024

Latch Key is a program at the Jennie Mose Family Resource Center in the after school hours which supervises 3 & 4 year old children. This posting is for Subsititute work which could be up to 4 hours per day. The work involves responsibility for helping teachers/directors by assisting in routine duties that relate to the supervision and care of pupils but are not directly associated with the teaching process. Does related work as required.
